7 Bad Eating Habits You Should Change Immediately
Most of us are obsessed with diet and weight loss! Don’t trust me? Just listen to any source of advertisement and you are immediately bombarded with the newest dieting strategies and “Hollywood” food fads.
For Americans, ultramodern life is perhaps becoming TOO comfortable. Our easy lifestyle means we use little energy and accordingly require fewer calories to keep up our standard body weight.
Consider it for a minute…
Amusement no more needs energy expenditure. As a matter of fact, it is in general quite opposite. We now entertain ourselves in the ease of our own lounge while watching television and crunching on our Cherished snack. Whether it is video, play stations, remote controls, or motorcars, we’re moving less and consuming fewer calories. General activities that were formerly a persona of our normal everyday lives have vanished…activities like walking for short distances, pushing a lawn mower or doing house hold works by hands.
And please don’t misconceive me, I value easy living just as much as the any one else. But, there is a problem…
- We’re presently feeding on more cereal products, but nearly all of them are processed cereals (white bread, etc.). Cereal use has rose 50 percent since the 1970′s, from 140 pounds of grains per individual per year to 210 pounds! Just 3 percent of the wheat flour is eaten as whole wheat.
- Our use of fruits and veggies has risen as well, only because french-fried potatoes and chips are included as vegetables.
- We are drinking little milk, but we have increased our cheese consumption. Cheese at present outranks meat as the prime source of saturated fat in our food.
- We have bring down red meat consumption, but have more than made up for the loss by maximizing our consumption of chick, so as a whole, we are consuming 14 pounds more meat nowadays than we did back in the 1970′s.
- We are drinking threefold more effervescent soft drinks than milk, compared to the 1970′s.
- We consume 30 percent less butter, but pour double quantity of oil on our meals and salads, so our overall added fat consumption has raised 35 percent.
- Sugar intake has been another reason of our expanding waistlines. Sugar consumption is simply off the menu. People are eating approximately twice the amount of sugar they require daily.
Unluckily, it appears that the years of healthy and nourishing family dinners are being substituted by fast food and eating in haste. We have step by step admitting that it is “All right” to sacrifice good food for the sake of comfort and that bigger serving lots equate to better prize.
It is time to know that we’re eating up too many calories and time to do something about it! Each of us can determine now that good food and exercise WILL become a regular part of our life!
We can start by searching our values; ideas and habits… gradually and intentionally comb out the ill habits and actions and begin a richer and bounty life. And remember, it has taken a long time to acquire bad habits, so be tolerant as you step toward your destination!
