Lose Weight: Exercise on a Budget
There are a lot of people who think that exercising means spending a lot of money and is only for the rich and the famous. There are many people who would like the fitness of Jane Fonda and yet who hold back thinking that they will have to spend a fortune on exercising. They have a notion that exercising can help you lose the calories but will also make your pocket substantially lighter.
The above notion is quite erroneous as nothing could be farther than the truth. It is true that many exercise modes can be expensive as people go in for weight loss treatments, world class gyms, personal trainers and the like to get started with exercising. Such options can be prohibitively expensive. But this does not mean that exercising has to be essentially an expensive affair.
Here are some options that can give you the benefits of regular exercise without the attendant costs. Here’s how you can economize:
- Aerobic exercises: These are exercises that include vigorous activities like brisk walking. Jogging, running, cycling and swimming. These are very beneficial as they help to burn away calories and also regulate your heart rate and blood pressure very effectively. What is significant is that you do not have to spend much at all for these activities. If you plan to jog, you can get a pair of inexpensive jogging shoes and a track suit and presto, you are ready to jog round the block and see those calories melt away. If you are less adventurous, you can start with walking around a park or public garden and start your exercise regime at zero cost but with maximum benefits. Sounds simple doesn’t it? If you want to swim you could join a club that offers swimming at a nominal cost and get started. If you are in an apartment complex with a swimming pool, you just need a pair of swimming trunks to get started.
- Anaerobic exercise: These are exercises that include weight training and muscle building to give you a toned and fit look. Anaerobic exercises go very well with aerobic exercise as these are quite complimentary in nature. You can get a whole set of equipment for anaerobic exercise at any regular gym. It’s quite ideal that you join a gym, many of which offer basis, inexpensive plans and start building your body tone. If you cannot afford to join a gym, don’t get disheartened. You can purchase a pair of dumbbells for as low as $20 and start off. Weight training can be done in alternate days at home itself and you can download some information or do it yourself material from the internet to perform these exercises at low cost.
- Health benefits: It has been proved that exercising is quite economical for one’s health in the long run, if you exercise; you will stay healthy and can minimize your medical and doctor’s bills. Hence if you want to save money and stay healthy, do exercise regularly.
It’s quite true that exercising is essential for weight loss and enhanced health. But as proved above, you do not have to spend a fortune to exercise and be healthy. You can start off inexpensively and maximize your gains from regular exercise. Here’s wishing you a happy and healthy future!
