Strategies to Lose Weight
Losing weight is a conglomeration of various strategies. Improper implementation of any one strategy will not give fruitful results. The following is a discussion of various measures that are to be implemented to lose weight effectively.
Have strong determination and design goals
It is essential to have a firm commitment to lose weight. Make a thorough study of yourself. Know facts like how much overweight are you? Extent you can strive to lose those pounds? Various available resources and similar other aspects. Set goals that best fit your needs. Do not over estimate yourself and set a large goal. You may fail to achieve them, get disappointed and give up the attempt to lose weight. Let the instinct to lose weight arise deep from your heart then you will surely continue until the goal is accomplished.
Be prepared to make long term life style changes
It is essential to make changes in life style that are long term and permanent in order to reduce and maintain the attained weight. Changes are to be made in dietary habits, improving regular physical activity involved. Improve your will power to resist food cravings.
Selection of nutritious foods.
Bid farewell to unhealthy eating habits. Avoid eating foods that are rich in fats, sugar and poor in proteins. Don’t starve just to lose weight. Prefer fiber rich foods like carrots, broccoli, and fresh fruits as snacks over fat containing foods. These foods offer the required nutrients; improve digestion and the feeling of fullness for a long duration. Make use of whole grains. Make sure that the numbers of calories consumed are less than those burnt to reduce extra pounds.
Practice regular physical workout
Come out of the sedentary life style. Indulge yourself in some sort of physical activity that aid in burning more number of calories. Make regular practice of exercise as a part of your daily routine. If possible, practice regular aerobic exercises that burn more number of calories. Exercises should be practiced in a right manner, and to the extent the rate of heart beat raises. Make sure not to overdo until you get fainted. To involve entire body practicing, yoga postures is the best option. They should be done under the guidance of an expert. Going to gym is also a best option, as you can share your experiences with others, which is a better chance to stay motivated.
Last option is to take medical help
If none of the above strategies are working for you then the last resort is the use of drugs and undergoing a surgery if drugs are not working. There are a great number of diet pills that curb the appetite and help you in getting control of your dietary habits. If the problem is not answered by these pills there are a great number of bariatric surgeries that reduce the stomach or small intestine volume. This reduces the amount of food consumed and the number of calories absorbed, and ultimately weight reduction can be obtained. But, one has to be careful while selecting either the diet pills or surgeons for undergoing surgeries. Surgeries should be followed by well balanced diets and regular exercise to lose weight and to maintain it.
