Weight loss is one of the most sought after outcomes for millions of people who are obese. But when it comes to working out your abs and developing abs, it’s a totally different ballgame altogether. This has been endorsed by the American council of Exercise, as cycling really works well on your whole body. You have to pull your abs in and keep them contracted throughout the exercise routine for best results.
- Crunches on ball: This is also a great exercise regime for the abs. You have to lie on a large exercise ball and then perform the abs crunches for best effect. This also exercise you legs and the buttocks very well, leading to all-round shaping up of the whole lower portion of the body in addition to the abs and contribute to general weight loss as well. These exercises are not very difficult to perform but are extremely effective for your abs development program.
- Reverse Crunch: In the reverse crunch, you place an exercise ball under the knees. You then have to contract your knees and lift your hips above the floor so that the abs region is pulled into shape on repetition.
- Plank: This is great for your abdominal muscles as well as the back and is best done on the hands or the elbows. You have to take the position of a push up so that your body is one straight line from head to toe. However, you have to hold your breath and keep the abs held in for as long as you can.
- Knee tucks: This is performed on the exercise ball, where you keep the ball under your knee or the shins. You then start rolling the ball towards you so that it effectively crunches your abs and strains these muscles leading to better abs shape.
- Hip extension: Here you have to lie on the floor with the feet head on the exercise ball. Then you slowly lift the hips over the floor while keeping the abs straight and the body also in one straight line from head to toe. These help working out your abs so well.
